This basic store is great for small businesses with fairly small inventories. These type of stores are best suited to selling products with fixed pricing, where no tax is charged and where shipping is included in the pricing.

INITIAL STEPS

Domain Name: this is your web address and it is renewable on a yearly basis. If you don't already have a domain name, we will do all the technical steps for you:

1. We will help you choose the best name - domain names do not need to be exactly like your business name.
2. We will register it for you through our affiliated Domain Registrar.
3. We will do the technical steps to tie in your domain name to your website.
4. Domain names are renewed on an annual basis although you can choose a longer term.

Hosting: this is the technical part that allows your domain name and your website to be visible on the internet.

1. We provide hosting and do all the technical steps for you - the cost is included in the Bronze package monthly fee.
2. SSL Certificate: this is security certificate that is an absolute "must" when selling online, for security purposes. We will provide this certificate for you at no extra charge.

Online Merchant Account

1. We will guide you on how to set up a merchant account.
2. Once you have set up your account, we will do the technical part to tie in the payment gateway to your website.

What we do for you

• We use a Wordpress theme to build these starter stores. Wordpress is one of the most popular platforms for creating websites as well as adding online payment capabilities. It offers a lot of elements to make your website as functional as possible.
• Since Wordpress themes are just overall frameworks, we will ensure that the layout best reflects your specific business.
• We will incorporate the code necessary to create your store, and help it accept online payments.
• We will incorporate code for search engine optimization. This is a good start to SEO effectiveness but if you feel you need more, you may want to consider either our Silver or Gold package.

Store owner responsibility

Anyone creating an online store needs to take care of certain aspects themselves. This applies to all stores, whether DIY or created by professionals:

• You upload your own store data (product information such as pricing, description, images, etc.)
• You need to have at least basic knowledge of how to work with images, how to write product descriptions, and how to follow the Wordpress dashboard.
• You need to set up a Paypal online merchant account (this is your banking information).
